There was Always Water Beneath the Rails
landscape

2023

The construction of Charlestown, MA’s transportation artery has slowly filled the Miller’s River over the past decades. Train lines and highways that prioratize single-use vehicular and train transport have now resulted in a corridor that breaks up neighborhoods and presents urgent flooding issues for the city. My project seeks to shift mobility infrastructure paradigms to envision systems that promote social collectivity and stormwater resilience. It posits the re-development plan for Bunker Hill Community College as an opportunity to re-think how we build our public transit and waterways to make better cities.
